The first year of life shapes everything that follows. At OBarto STEM & Childcare, our private Infant Program is intentionally designed for low ratios, individualized routines, and meaningful connection. We partner closely with families to create a calm, nurturing environment where your child feels secure, supported, and deeply known.
Infant Care Practices
Diapering: Procedures must be posted in changing areas away from food prep, and a covered, hands-free trash container must be provided. Changing tables require safety straps, which must be cleaned after each use.
Formula: Refrigerate prepared formula in a covered nipple, labeled with the child’s name, contents, and preparation time/date, to be used within 24 hours. Discard unfinished bottles an hour after feeding.
Breastmilk: Label all breast milk with the child’s name and express time/date. Unfrozen breast milk lasts 96 hours in the fridge, frozen lasts 6 months, and must be consumed within 24 hours of thawing. Discard unfinished bottles after two hours. On-site breastfeeding space is provided.
Safe Sleep Policy: Children must have a supervised rest period daily.
Children over 12 months old sleep on cots. Children under 12 months nap in cribs or playpens on their backs; they may choose their sleeping position when able to turn over. No wedges or positioners should be used. Cribs and playpens must be free of soft items like pillows and toys. Instead of a blanket, children may wear sleep clothing.
Napping and Sleeping Surfaces: Each child receives clean, individual bedding. Napping surfaces must be clean, safe, and in good repair, adhering to age, height, and weight specifications. We follow the Manufacturer’s instructions for the Pack' n Plays. Cots and playpens must have firm, fitted mattresses, with the mattress at its lowest position when a child can sit up or stand. All bedding must be stored clean and sanitary when not in use.
Toddler Care Practices

Bathroom Training: We offer potty training camps a few times a year to build a partnership with parents, as it requires significant effort at home and school. This program is for older children. Both parties must agree that the child shows signs of readiness and has the necessary maturity, starting at 2 years old.
Meals: Nutritious meals, including breakfast, a morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack, will be prepared and cooked on-site. Menus will be available on Brightwheel.
